BONSAI SOIL: Adams’ Bonsai soil mix is suitable for all but the smallest mame bonsai. It is a sterile mix composed of Turface, grit, and peat. I have been using this mix exclusively for over forty years with excellent results. Due to the lack of available nutrients in this mix, annual use of a trace element supplement such as Micromax is recommended for plants such as Zuisho which are unusually sensitive to trace element deficiencies.
